BLUE WHALES: The 30 meter long blue whale is the largest animal that has ever existed on earth and is in high danger of extinction. At the beginning of the 20th century, some hundred thousands of them were travelling through the oceans, today there are only less than 3% left. This is mainly due to whaling and climate changes that affect its nutrition, krill (a sort of little crab). If their number becomes too low, any attempts of repopulation will fail.

MANTA RAYS: The manta rays are also real giants. Their skeleton is made of cartilage (like that of the sharks). They can grow larger than 6 meters and weigh more than 2 tons. They feed mainly on plankton and small organisms.
